Google Voice – Invites Are In… October 30th, 2009
Seems like it has been a good week for me this week in terms of getting my quota of invites to share on various Google services. Earlier this week I was given some Google Wave invites to share and now this morning when I logged into my Google Voice account, it would seem I now have some there too.
So, just like with Google Wave, I’m giving away a Google Voice invite here on my blog. Leave a comment below if you want/need one, we’ll pick a comment next week and send someone an invite..!
Note: Yes, I’m a UK user. It DOES work over here if you are a little clever with the sign up process although you do this at your own risk. As clearly stated in the EULA this is a US service only at the moment. Great if you have family in the US and want to make free local calls however…

Google Wave – WordPress Integration… October 30th, 2009
I thought being as the latest thing is Google Wave, I’d try and integrate a wave into one of my posts making use of the APIs. Remember it is still very buggy (wave integration that is) so don’t be too surprised if this doesn’t work. Also, remember that in order to be able to use Google Wave or even see the wave below you need to have an active account and be logged in, if your not it’ll probably break the post and look a bit rubbish! Here goes:

In order to find your wave ID, you’ll need to open Google Wave in your browser and either create a new wave or open an existing one that you want to use, then when the wave is in focus, have a look up in the browsers address bar and make a note of the URL, in my case this is https://wave.google.com/wave/#restored:wave:googlewave.com!w%252BqjsuPV2cI. Next, take a look at the end part after wave: so, googlewave.com!w%252BqjsuPV2cI. Now we need to substritute the part %252B for a + so my wave ID would be googlewave.com!w+qjsuPV2cI

Google Wave – Invites Are In… October 27th, 2009
As I hinted in a previous comment, I now have some Google Wave invites in my account.
Now as we all know they are pretty rare so I am not going to be just giving them away as I will be reserving them mainly for friends and colleagues so we can interact on Wave but, I had already decided that I would be putting one up for grabs here on my blog as a thank you for those who regularly read my ramblings. Not sure exactly how I am going to do it, I thought perhaps I would just leave it open and maybe in a week or so, read down through the comments on the post and the best one wins! Seems like the easiest solution…
So, leave a comment below, be as creative as you want (“hello I’d like an invite please” doesn’t really do it…), it doesn’t even have to be on topic, ‘freestyle’ is the key here! Best comment wins. Be sure to check back to see if anyone else leaves something more interesting so you can counter!

Update 29/11/2009 – 10 more invites to give away! As per my comment below, if anyone who has ALREADY commented below still needs an invite, leave another comment just to let me know and you get an invite! Simple as that, first come first served for those that qualify over the next few days, but be quick… Starting on 01/12/2009, the remaining invites will be given away at a rate of 2 a week until they are all gone. I’ll use the same methods as above so if you have not commented on my blog before, please leave me an interesting comment below and you’ll be in with a chance.
